Today was a very important day for Hope. Today was the day of Hope's vent discharge meeting. Hope's pulmonologist, pulmonology social worker, neonatologist, home nursing coordinator, 2 representative from Hope's medical supply company, the neonatal discharge coordinator, and the pediatrics discharge coordinator all sat down and created a plan to get Hope home. It appears that as long as Hope remains stable, she will be released from the hospital on August 25. This is a few days later than everyone had hoped, but the hospital only discharges children from the NICU on Thuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

So the new countdown begins, and is now even MORE official:

T MINUS 14

and counting.

  1. Hello
This is Jonathan Norem's mom again. I am so glad to hear that Hope is doing so well. Congrats on the date. I hope that it all works out. I watch your site as much as possible and it just amazes me how great she looks. I also got to thinking that it is kind of funny that Hope is schedualed to go home a day after Jonathan kind of like she came down here a day after Jonathan. I can not say how happy that I am for you guys. I just want to wish you all the luck in the world. The time will fly by and the day will come before you realize it. Just 2 more weeks!! GOOD LUCK!!
